Origami workshop
The Origami workshop features series of baffling origami and other paper-folding feats, mixed together with lots of audience participation. Participants will learn to make models that flip over, whiz through the air, flap in their hands or go bang! Origami can teach sequencing, geometric shapes and can help to make other mathematical concepts such as fractions and symmetry clearer.
Suitable for ages 8 and up, origami is the Japanese art of paper folding - ori means to fold and kami means paper! If required, the exciting and visual folding session can be presented with Danish, French, German, Japanese or English 'patter', hence making it suitable for an international audience. Remember, origami models were exchanged by samurai warriors, so think again if you have preconceptions about it being feminine.

Tutors are members of the Japan Foundation, various worldwide origami organisations and the most famous magical society in the world, The Magic Circle. Our tutors have also appeared on television shows such as Blue Peter and The Generation Game.
Customer comments
"I just wanted to say thank you very much for the Origami and Drum workshops we booked for our recent Culture Week. Both workshops were very well received by the students and the staff. The Origami Tutor said he was very pleased with the outcome of the day and enjoyed working with our students. He said he was going home with a 'happy heart'. I am sure I will be booking this workshop again. Also the drumming, the students who did not get a chance to attend were very interested in me booking another session." - Martine Phillips, Team Leader Enrichment, Milton Keynes College
