Exploring Photoshop workshopThe workshop leaders | This workshop | Scheme of work | Certified qualification | Evidence of participation | Booking This workshop will act as an introduction to, or help you improve your skills with Adobe Photoshop. Almost every digital image on screen or in print has been processed at some point with Photoshop, whether to enhance its appearance or even change its contents. Proficiency in Photoshop will not only help bring the best out of your own digital photography but also be a valuable skill in all areas of new media and publishing. The workshop leadersEmma started out as a novice photographer when she was 16, taking pictures of bands and people. She developed this passion for 4 years before attending college to become qualified. Emma left City of Westminster college in 2004 with a Btec National Diploma in photography. Since then she has worked freelance for Fin Costello an iconic rock photographer, fine tuning her love of creative band and portrait work. Most of the work Emma does now is within the music industry, she also undertakes creative portraits for clients within the motorsport industry. Much of Emma's work relies on two key ingredients - a well planned and creatively lit subject and then a lot of post production Photoshop work to create diverse and often fantastical images. This workshopThe workshops can take place on one day aimed at students needing an introduction to Photoshop. Alternatively on longer workshops (spread over several sessions) students can be given simple introductory photographic editing assignments and bring the work back into class. The course will aim to provide students with a solid basic knowledge of editing pictures in Photoshop with a plan to learn some creative editing techniques. Practical and creative discussions can take place over what is good and bad about the images. There will also be opportunities to take photographs during the session under supervision and with technical and creative help on hand from the tutor. Notes will be given out on the more technical aspects and guidance on composition, use of light, choice of subject etc. Scheme of workPrincipal purpose:
