Vocal Coaching workshopThe workshop leaders | This workshop | Customer comments | Scheme of work | Certified qualification | Evidence of participation | Booking You've seen Pop Idol and X-Factor and you're sure you can do better! Come and learn vocal warm-ups, techniques used by the stars, learn about harmony and different singing styles before learning and performing a song to a backing track. The Vocal coaching workshop works well alongside the Music and the Music Industry, guitar and drumming workshops. When these workshops are held all together, it is possible to end a whole day of events with a free-for-all "jam session" using the instruments, new-found vocal skills and inspiration provided by the unlocking of the secrets of the music business! The workshop leadersThis workshop is taught by a professional singer who has been trained as a vocal tutor by top celebrity vocal coaches Carrie and David Grant (Fame Academy, Pop Idol). Other vocal coaches used are all professional singers who have extensive experience working in the music industry singing along side artistes such as Will Young, Diana Ross, Lemar, Sting and many others. This workshopThis workshop is for absolute beginners as well as those who have had some singing experience. Participants will learn some general information about the science behind the voice, whether spoken or sung as well as other technical lessons like how to look after your voice, warm up and use it safely. Learn techniques like how to improve range and stamina as well as performance skills like song interpretation and delivery. The technical stuff is done in a fun, informative way often through practical tasks and games. It doesn't matter what your musical preference is, in this workshop different music and vocal styles are explored. Discover your personal favourite and how to improve and get the most out of your singing. The final task and highlight of the day is to learn a song with full harmony vocal arrangements and to perform it in group. You may even get the chance to sing a solo! We encourage people to seek further help and training with their singing if it is really something they would like to pursue and offer information packs for people to take away with them containing notes on the subjects covered in the workshop and what to do should they like to take things further. Some people wish to put a singing group, choir or band together following the workshop, perhaps teaming up with some of the musicians who took part in the Music, guitar or drumming workshops. This is a fun and creative extra-curricular activity but could also result in gigs and performances and a taste for future careers moves.
